As part of the Higher Secondary Education under the Department of General Education, Kerala, Career Guidance and Adolescent Counselling Cell (CG&AC) function in all higher secondary schools.
Career guidance in higher secondary schools aims to help students understand their interests, strengths, and opportunities, enabling them to make informed decisions about their education and career paths. It empowers them with the knowledge, skills, and confidence needed for a successful transition from school to higher studies or the world of work.
Our school’s Career Guidance Unit was established in 2018.
The major activities are:
1. Every academic year, the unit conducts a career empowerment program titled "Focus Point After SSLC."
2. The CG&AC State Faculty conducts sessions for Plus One students on "Aptitude and Career", and Career guide, for Plus Two students on "Career Planning."
3. Under the leadership of the Career Club, initiatives like the Career Corner, Career Notice Board, other competitions and Career Day Celebrations are organized.
4. Our school was selected as a partner school in the "School Connect Program" initiated by IIT Madras. Eight students successfully passed the final exam with good marks and received course completion certificates in the first batch itself.
5. Students benefit greatly from listening to Career FM, a CG&AC audio program, during school assemblies.
6. In the academic year 2024–25, students had the opportunity to attend the State-level DISHA Expo and District-level Mini DISHA Expo, which helped them significantly in making informed career decisions. Our students secured third place in the Promo Reels Competition at the Mini DISHA Expo.
7. The "Key to Entrance" program by the Kerala Government was very useful for higher secondary students preparing for entrance examinations.
